Sandman created history last night at Pukekohe becoming Adrenalin’s first ever 3 time V8 Supercar champion.

The newly crowned champ has been the one to beat since Season IV and although his win tally hasn’t been that impressive in Season VI he’s shown that consistency is crucial.

 “We have had an amazing season, we haven’t always been the fastest but we’ve been up the pointy end of the field and that’s what matters” Sandman said.

Sandman scored 6 wins in season VI compared to 16 wins last season but the number of podium finishes is what has made all the difference.

“Wins have been hard to get this season” Sandman said. “The amount of fast guys in this series at the moment is mind blowing”.  “When I first joined the championship back in season II there were only 2 guys that had a chance at winning on the night”. “Now that number is around 15 which is sensational”

Sandman was ecstatic after race 2 knowing that he had achieved something that no other driver has done before him, 3 consecutive championships.

Sandman Motorsport’s focus now turns to season VII with the team expected to announce their plans in the coming weeks.
