Sandman Motorsport is delighted to announce that Castrol will be the team’s major sponsor for Season VI of the Track IR V8 Supercar Series at Adrenalin Factor.

Sandman will pilot a brand new Castrol VE Commodore without a team mate for season VI in an effort to cut costs during these tough economic times.

Sandman Motorsport’s team principal, Stephen Clarke, says the partnership with Castrol is a great boost to his championship winning team and is excited about next season’s series.

“Anytime a team attracts a major new corporate sponsor like Castrol it’s a good thing not only for us but for our championship in general, were looking forward to having Castrol on board as we defend our V8 title”. Said Mr Clarke.

Reigning V8 Supercar champion and season IV Bathurst 1000 winner Sandman said today’s announcement is a major step forward for the team’s future success.

“Personally, I am very excited” Sandman said. I started my career with Castrol while racing R/C cars back in 1996 so to have them involved with my V8 programme is somewhat special.

Castrol’s Marketing Director, Andrew Johnson made the announcement at a press conference held at Sandman Motorsport’s headquarters in Melbourne today.

“Castrol has a long and proud history in motorsport that stretches back many years and today’s announcement is an exciting step into Sandman Motorsport’s next chapter,” Mr Johnson said.

Also announced today were the team’s plans for Bathurst. The driver line up is unchanged with HiTone staying on as Sandman’s co-driver, but for the first time the team have pre-pared a special Bathurst livery that the pair will be piloting in the big race.

Last season, Sandman Motorsport scored 9 pole positions, won 7 championship rounds and 16 individual race victories making it back to back V8 Supercar Championships for Sandman, something the team is very proud of indeed.

Sandman Motorsport hopes to continue its impressive run next season trying for its 3rd straight championship win, something that has never been achieved in Adrenalin’s history.
