sm_logoAfter a power blackout destroyed Sandman’s race 1, a fast charging Repsol commodore came through the field to win race 2 from last place on the grid. A very happy Sandman put it down to a great car setup.

“HiTone and I worked hard on a good setup for Sundays race but after qualifying it proved to be nowhere near good enough to be out right fastest” Sandman said.

“After qualifying I got a phone call from HiTone who suggested we make a slight change to the car’s setup in the dying minutes of final practice and it proved to be a winner”

“The car broke my PB by over a tenth of a second on its first flying lap and I knew it had a lot more left in it”

Sandman charged through the field from 28th on the grid to win Race 2 at Queensland Raceway on Sunday.

“I’m over the moon to tell you the truth” Sandman said. “After getting no points in race 1 this really could have hurt us in the championship in a big way but we made the most of a bad situation and bounced back nicely”

Sandman will begin testing in preparation for the first of this season’s endurance round’s at Phillip Island later this week.
