Dunlop Sprint Tyre debut at Queensland Raceway
Adrenalin Factor will introduce a new soft option Tyre for the Queensland Round of the Adrenalin V8 Supercar Championship series this weekend.
The Sprint tyre is designed to be faster than the control rubber providing a gain of over a second per lap before quickly deteriorating.
The tyre will provide great grip however it may also mean more pit-stops so Team tyre strategies will be critically important.
Teams will use a unique yellow-walled allocation of the Sprint tyre allowing spectators to identify cars using the quick rubber for this Sunday’s round.
Series leader Sandman welcomed the tyre’s introduction revealing Team strategy will now play a more significant role across the weekend.
“We're all very excited about the introduction of the new tyre. It's going to mean there's a lot more strategy in the races so for our engineers and drivers it becomes a challenging exercise trying to understand the tyre and execute the best strategy,” he said.
A number of Teams have already hit the track testing in preparation for round 5 of the series at Queensland Raceway. |
